Through five engaging activities, students see ratio in real-life situations; use verbal and symbolic representations to describe ratio; develop proportional thinking skills; work with ratio in charts, as ordered pairs, as fractions and decimals; visually estimate ratios; use multiplication to determine equivalent ratios; and test a scientific hypothesis comparing ratios. In each activity, students have the opportunity to apply concepts by creating their own problem sets.
