Grades K-3 Accuracy is Volume 2 of Heartsoft's award-winning Critical Thinking Skills program, which includes the animated instructional software program, and a comprehensive Curriculum Integration Guide which contains 39 Supplemental Activities plus coloring sheets. Accuracy's software program contains two stories, each with 10 exercises, all focused on Accuracy in thinking and speaking. A cast of colorful characters works through a story which illustrates the concept of Accuracy, and then the student participates in one of the 10 interactive exercises which pose situations in which the student must select who is being accurate and who is not. To quote from the Teacher's Manual: “To be accurate means to be free from errors, mistakes, or distortion. We want our students to be able to figure out when the information they are considering is accurate, whether a word is being used accurately, whether a word is spelled accuately, whether what someone says is accurate, whether what they read is accurate whether numbers are being manipulated and or understood accurately. Furthermore, we want students to be able to determine whether their interpretations are accurate, as well as whether another person is interpreting a situation or issue accurately….Am I accurate in what I am saying? Are the facts that I am using accurate? How do I know they are? How can I check to see whether they are?” Thinkology Volume 2 is designed to be a springboard to accuracy in every curricular area.
