Product Details
A part of the middle school series from Optimum Resource, Inc., Spelling Rules is designed to help students improve spelling accuracy and master the fundamentals - forming plurals (adding s, adding es, f, fe and ves) and compound words, the "i" before "e" rule, capitalization, and many others.

Students work with appropriate level words that follow common spelling patterns, as well as exceptions to the rules. The program covers material ranging from 1+1+1 to VAC words and allows students to improve their ability to spell correctly and accurately.

The material has type-in answers and teachers may customize the program to include their own spelling rules and questions at any time. Teachers can tailor instruction to meet the needs of individual learners.

Spelling Rules features 21 different rules in five levels with hundreds of graded questions. Each rule is presented first, with examples. Next, type-in questions are given for that rule. A help screen offers more examples and the student may toggle freely between screens.

Features & Benefits
Teachers can adjust the starting level. Identifying rules, working with examples, finding exceptions, reinforcement of the underlying issues of spelling and language structure make Spelling Rules a software program of great value.

A special teacher access section allows for specific level focus for each student. Progress reports are available and all rules and questions may be printed as take-home sheets practice pages or tests.

The program is designed for use in grades 3 through 9 and has varied levels. It may be utilized in self-paced or test form and provides valuable and much needed skills training in an engaging and visual manner.
