The Edmark Reading Program print version provides students with one on one teacher to student lessons. Focusing on multi-sensory interaction including hearing, speaking, seeing, and touching, the program is also beneficial for hearing-impaired or deaf students in developing vocabulary and language awareness. The story Book Lessons include colorful full-page drawings that illustrate simple sentences. Only learned words are used in stories. Direction Card and Picture/Phrase Card Lessons represent a broad diversity of people, role models and settings. Object-oriented works such as "car" are represented by a variety of illustrative sizes, shapes, and colors.
