This program explores the life cycle of a variety of plants–including a sunflower, grape, morning glory, dandelion, sweet potato, tangerine, and rice–examining the growth of the plant from a seed, the development of the flower, and the ripening of the flower’s seeds. Pollination and photosynthesis are discussed. Students learn how farmers prepare the grapevine for growing and how workers harvest grapes. The program also describes the ideal climate for growing grapes and reviews the history of grape growing. Roots, leaves, flowers, and seed pods are shown as the morning glory grows from seed, matures, and dies. The role of chlorophyll, the ability of the morning glory to climb, and its reaction to heat are all examined. The program is completed by a gallery of pictures and games.
