Boe-Bot Robot

Build a rolling personal robot and control it with a microcontroller
brain. Keep students engaged while learning electronics concepts with
the LEDs, resistors, capacitors, and other electronic parts which come
with this kit. Students learn about and build circuits on the solderless
breadboard and use Basic programming language to control the
robot. This robot follows lines, navigates mazes, follows people or
other robots, has whiskers to detect objects, detects light, flashes
lights, plays tunes, and more!

Club Package: 5 Boe-Bot Robots with 5 Accessory Packs.

The Boe-Bot Robot is built on a high-quality brushed aluminum chassis
that provides a sturdy platform for the continuous rotation servo
motors and BASIC Stamp module's Board of Education carrier
board. Many mounting holes and slots may be used to add custom robotic
equipment or off-the-shelf add-ons from our Expansion Pack (sold
separately). The rear wheel is a slider ball held in place with a cotter
pin. Drive wheels are molded to fit precisely on the servo spline and
held in place with a small screw.

This is the robot Kit that accompanies the Exploring Robotics with
Electronics curriculum, which is sold separately. Boe-Bot has been
recognized for years by high schools and colleges as one of the best
teaching robots in the world. What really makes the Boe-Bot unique is
the BASIC Stamp microcontroller's flexibility of programming when
coupled with breadboard circuit construction. Students quickly learn
about embedded projects, from wiring and components to programming and
mechanical dependencies.

Features & Benefits

Robot Features:

    • Fun - Follow lines, Navigate a room or a maze, Roam toward light, Flash lights, Follow a person or vehicle, and much more!
    • Beginner-friendly - No programming or electronics experience needed
    • Open platform - Exposed circuitry to learn electronic concepts and create circuits using a breadboard
    • Solder-free - Experiment with custom circuits on the breadboard (no special-brand connectors needed)
    • Understandable - Included text provides easy-to-follow tutorials with diagrams and schematics. Curriculum includes 3D models with step by step instructions.
    • Programmable - PBASIC is easy to learn and introduces concepts found in most programming languages
    • Autonomous - Touch, light and infrared sensors let the Boe-Bot navigate on its own. Whiskers make it look like insects!
    • Expandable - Additional sensors and hardware expansion kits are available to add additional engineering challenges
    • Durable - Thick, brushed-aluminum chassis with
mounting holes for servos and accessories doesn't bend easily and will
last for many years. Rugged wheels and continuous rotation servo motors
      for accurate control.
    • Communicable - LED lights, a
piezospeaker, phototransistors, and infrared emitter/receiver pairs
provide fun methods of sending and receiving feedback
    • Connectable - USB cable to connect to PC for programming, then disconnect for autonomous roaming and activities
    • Battery Powered - Uses 4 AA Batteries for safe power with easy access to remove for recharging (batteries not included)
    • Circuit Buildable - Kit includes resistors,
transistors, capacitors, LEDs, linear voltage regulator, wires, and all
the parts needed to build project circuits
    • Controllable - Can use a standard remote control with infrared receiver to control movements (not included in kit)
    • Expandible - Many add-on accessories and an engineering expansion kit are avaialble for added hours of fun.
